How was everyone’s weekend? Did you go to/have any Superbowl parties? We just had a nice relaxing evening at home watching the game, although my husband had gotten enough snack food you’d have thought we were having twenty people over.
We were rooting for the 49ers since SF is our adopted city (my husband is really a Cardinals fan), but I mostly just watched it for the commercials.
I also have been working on a couple more sewing projects that I wanted to share with you! The first one is a cute little bag that is perfect for quick trips to the store. It’s just big enough to hold my wallet, phone, and chapstick. I found the tutorial on Crazy Little Projects, who is doing a Learn to Sew series that has been really helpful for me. I would really recommend checking it out if you are a beginning sewer like me who needs some help learning the basics. Here’s how mine turned out:
My second project is a cover I made for my Kindle. I already have two store-bought covers, but I thought it would be more fun to have one that I made myself. I found the tutorial here, but I decided to modify it a little. The tutorial was done for a laptop, but it is easy to change the measurements for whatever device you have. I decided that instead of having the opening on the short side, I would have it open on the long side. And instead of having straps with buttons (I had some issues making button holes with my machine), I made an elastic ruffle to go around the entire cover. For the fleece lining, I recycled an old fleece scarf that I don’t wear anymore! Here it is:
Next on my sewing list is a pair of pajama pants for Penny. Stay tuned!

Love the Kindle cover!
Thank you!
love your sewing projects! we were rooting for SF too, and it was a great try at the last minute, but too bad!
Thanks! Yeah, we really thought they’d end up winning. It was a good game though!
Great job! I am so glad you never gave up.
Thanks! Me too.
